Yes data should match.

Cube 1
Customer Info (As a Navigational attribute)
123 ABC
Cube 2
Customer Info (As a Direct Object)
123 ABC
If you are updating data from same source system, then for customer 123 information is always ABC only, no matter how what data it is like master data or transaction data.
Ideally this is correct however your are best person to see how is actual data updating like mapping , routines etc..
