1. Yes, when we pass upper limit, need to reinit, other wise changes won't work for existing init.

2.Yes, You can do init without data transfer. your at safe side as your delta is calday(locking source system was not needed). we need to run only once in a day and at end of the day or before starting of business hours.

When we use dso in our data flow then no need to worry about missing records. because dso will overwrite the records and will send changed records to info cube.
